Follow Me
Standing on the beach casting a net into
the waves
A Man came by and called them, "Follow me"
They stopped what they were doing, put the net aside
And without hesitation followed Him
He went a little further
called another two
Who were sitting in a ship mending their nets
They dropped what they were doing, left their father behind
And immediately followed Him
Jesus saw a man sitting taking tax
from those walking by
A man despised and hated for working for the enemy
But Jesus called him with a simple “Follow me”
He stood left his table and followed Him
Others volunteered to follow, always
a ‘but’,
One considered his father, almost ready to leave this earth
Another to farewell his family, friends and home
But it was still more important just to follow Him
Another had his wealth a man with honest
heart
Who loved the law with all his soul and mind
Yet he could not part from his riches
He just could not follow Him
Peter was asked, “Do you love me”
He was told his future, a life of suffering and death
Peter then said “What of this man, what will happen to him?”
But he was told one simple thing YOU follow me.

Joh
21:18 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young,
thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt
be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry
thee whither thou wouldest not. This spake he,
signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he
saith unto him, Follow me. Then Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom
Jesus loved following; which also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord,

till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me.

the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the
left.
Let the words
of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord,
my strength and my redeemer. Psalm 19:14
