Virtual Reality
Life seemingly so real
Tangible, solid, meaningful
Yet subject to corruption and death
A vapour, no enduring substance
Limited to time and finality
We who live in this bubble
Bounded by the frail skin of death
Strive to make life our sojourn bearable
Comfortable and purposeful
Reaching for success and notoriety
Clambering for wealth and fame
Achieving goals, framing certificates
All disappearing with a resounding 'pop'
When the virtual touches reality
Then what does the three score and ten
mean
When we meet the next dimension reality
Will our lives hold any substance?
Something enduring in our souls
Something tangible real and everlasting
Something solid and truly meaningful.
Looking past the inevitable appointment
Beyond the limits of our understanding
Where unending reality dwells
Timeless eternity, boundless energy
Determined by this virtual reality
Testing ground of life
God in us is the substance
God in us the reality
